Chennai is the heart of Tamil Nadu. It is a perfect vacation destination to experience the real essence of South India. Well connected with many tourist cities, Chennai becomes the starting point of Chennai to Kanchipuram tour package.CHENNAI TO KANCHIPURAM TOUR PACKAGE In Chennai, there are splendid places to visit such as Marina Beach, Marundeeswarar temple, Elliot’s Beach, etc. An amazing travelling place situated near Chennai at a distance of 75 kilometers is Kanchipuram.

Kanchipuram is a city of cultural treasure, heritage architecture, and picturesque. It is popularly known as a city of thousand temples situated on the banks of the holy river, Vegavathi serves as a significant pilgrimage site.  Kanchipuram is a city of learning, a very ancient city and was the capital of Pallava dynasty. A hub of 108 temples is there in the city, majority temples are of Vishnu and Shiva.

A weekend Chennai to Kanchipuram tour package was a great holiday plan. A Chennai to Kanchipuram one day tour package by car was a comfortable drive with my family and it took a maximum of 2.5 hours. As we entered the spiritual city of Kanchipuram, the architecture was mesmerizing. We took a halt at a highway hotel, had breakfast. It is always good to pre-book a hotel to avoid last moment troubles. In a Chennai to Kanchipuram one day tour package, short rest at a hotel is a wise decision from a tiring road trip. We felt refreshed and got ready for the Kanchipuram tour package from Chennai.

The city is divided into two parts, Shiva Kanchi and Vishnu Kanchi. The first visit at 9.30pm was at the Kamatchi Amman Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peeth, having great significance in Hindu religion. The essence of Vishnu Kanchi is the Varadharaja Perumal Temple also known as Devrajaswamy Temple. In the temple, we saw the 7 floors tall Raj Gopuram, 100 pillar hall stone carvings, and a tank with a submerged temple. At this sacred place, we also visited the Perundevi Thayar Temple and the Narasimha Temple, the main temple, and the Giant Vishnu Murti.  The next visit was Vaikunta Perumal Temple situated in the village of Uthiramerur. Belongs to the Pallava and Chola dynasty, here Lord Vishnu is worshipped as Vaikunta Perumal and Goddess Lakshmi as Anandavalli.

The Kanchipuram tour package from Chennai continued with the next visit to Kailasanathar Temple, the most ancient structure in the city. Dedicated to Lord Shiva belongs to the Pallava dynasty having a Dravidian style of architecture. We took a break for Lunch from 1 pm to 2 pm. At 3 pm we resumed our journey with the next visit is to the Ekambareswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva associated with the five elements. The last temple to visit is the Kumarakottam Temple dedicated to Hindu war God, Murugan. The temples situated in Kanchipuram are grand and beautiful architecture having great religious significance. After visiting the temples, we did not forget to visit the Kanchipuram market to buy world famous Kanchipuram silk sarees. We immensely enjoyed shopping the silk sarees from Weaver’s Cooperatives and moved to the hotel to take rest. We checked out of the hotel the next early morning to Chennai.
